Concord Side Street Improvements Begin Wednesday

Contractors will work Wednesday and Thursday to repave several side streets along Treat Boulevard.

CONCORD, CA — The final phase of a pavement rehabilitation project will get underway Wednesday in Concord, allowing crews to repave several side streets and repair a few potholes.

According to city officials, the project includes improvements to nearly a dozen streets along Treat Boulevard, between San Miguel Road and Clayton Road. Contractors are scheduled to work Wednesday and Thursday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

"Pavement work includes cold-in-place recycling which strengthens and puts back the existing asphalt in place, as well as installation of a top layer of rubberized asphalt to make the road quieter as vehicles drive on it," the city said. "The project also involves replacing curb ramps at intersections, some sidewalk replacement, and median landscaping improvements with irrigation between San Miguel and Cowell Road."
