Conord Students Invited To Enter Congressional Art Competition

U.S. Rep. Mark DeSaulnier announced the deadline for high school artists to submit their original pieces.

CONCORD, CA — U.S. Rep. Mark DeSaulnier invites high school artists from Concord to submit their original art pieces for the 2025 Congressional Art Competition.

Winning pieces are displayed in the U.S. Capitol, and winners from each district are invited to Washington, D.C., to be recognized at a national reception.

Acceptable art forms include paintings, drawings, collages, prints, mixed media, computer-generated and photography.

“The Congressional Art Competition is a welcome opportunity to turn a spotlight on the creativity and talent of student artists in our community,” DeSaulnier said. “Each year, I look forward to seeing the wonderful submissions and hearing from young artists about the careful thought behind their artistic decisions. The participation across our district reminds us of the importance of the arts in fostering creativity and community.”

High schoolers from the 10th Congressional District who wish to be considered must email their submission and a completed release form no later than 5 p.m. Pacific Time, Friday, April 11, to Kaylee.DeLand@mail.house.gov.

The 10th Congressional District encompasses 17 cities in Contra Costa County, including Alamo, Antioch (partial), Brentwood, Byron, Clayton, Concord, Danville, Dublin, Lafayette, Martine (partial), Moraga, Oakley, Orinda, Pacheco, Pleasant Hill, San Ramon and Walnut Creek
