Earthquake Rattles East Bay Thursday Afternoon
Quake measuring 3.3 was centered near Oakland.
The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.3 struck the East Bay this afternoon.
The quake shook an area near Oakland at 4:48 p.m., according to the USGS. The quake had a depth of 9.5 miles.
Its epicenter was located two miles southeast of Oakland and three miles east-northeast of Alameda, according to the USGS.

These quakes come four days after a 3.2 earthquake centered near San Leandro rolled through the East Bay on Sunday evening.
