Fire Stalls Traffic On Highway 4 In Concord

CONCORD, CA — A freeway fire Tuesday afternoon in Concord was causing a traffic backup.

Smoke from a fire was reported around 1:10 p.m. Tuesday on eastbound state Highway 4 at state Highway 242, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Crews from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District were responding to the blaze.

At least one lane was affected and motorists were advised to expect delays.
