CONCORD, CA — A freeway fire Tuesday afternoon in Concord was causing a traffic backup.

Smoke from a fire was reported around 1:10 p.m. Tuesday on eastbound state Highway 4 at state Highway 242, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Crews from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District were responding to the blaze.
