Hot Mess Express Rescue Rolls Into Contra Costa County—With Bins, Brooms & Big Hearts

Hot Mess Express Rescue has officially arrived in Contra Costa County!

What's all the excitement about? For women who just can't stand the mess in their home anymore but are too overwhelmed and hopeless to get it organized and clean, Hot Mess Express is here to help.

Whether it’s clearing clutter, tackling “that one room or closet,” or simply lending a hand with open hearts and rubber gloves, our mission is simple: women helping women—no judgment, just love and Lysol.

Founded in North Carolina in 2023, Hot Mess Express Rescue began with one goal: to support women who feel buried under the mess and don’t know where to start. Now with chapters in 45 states, our crews are helping women across the country create space for what matters most (more than 225 missions completed this year alone!).

Here in Contra Costa County, co-coordinators Lisa Nichols and Jenny Stevenson have already completed three missions, with more in the works.

“The missions are hard work,” says Lisa, “but they’re so fulfilling. And it’s actually fun—you meet amazing women, share a few laughs, and leave knowing you made a real difference right now.”

At the heart of every Hot Mess mission is a simple truth: every woman deserves support—just because. It doesn’t matter how long the clutter has been there or what led to it. Sometimes, all it takes is a team that shows up, rolls up their sleeves, and says, “Where do we start?”
