Man Killed In Concord Shooting, Police Say
His death was being investigated as a homicide.
CONCORD, CA — A man died in a shooting Tuesday night in Concord.
The Concord Police Department Dispatch Center received several calls shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday about the shooting. Callers reported hearing multiple gunshots and seeing a person on the ground in the vicinity of Oak Grove Road and Pear Drive.
Officers were quick to respond and found a 53-year-old man suffering from several gunshot wounds, police said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Police did not disclose his name.
Police said Wednesday that detectives from the Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene and remained active in their investigation of the case.

"At this time, there are no immediate public safety concerns," Concord police said. "No further information is being released at this time."
