Monument Boulevard Reopens At Scene Of Suspected DUI Crash
A driver hit a power pole, prompting a seven-hour closure of the Concord roadway.
CONCORD, CA — Monument Boulevard reopened Monday morning following an hours-long closure caused by a solo-vehicle crash involving a suspected DUI driver, according to the Concord Police Department.
Shortly after 1:45 a.m. Monday, Concord police announced on Twitter that the roadway was closed in both directions at Virginia Lane where a car hit a power pole.
"PG&E will be responding," police said. "Expect traffic delays and road closures well into the morning commute. Please plan accordingly and avoid the area."

At 8:55 a.m., police said the roadway was open in both directions and the driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
