1. 1 Dead, 3 Injured In Unincorporated Concord (patch.com) — Residents in unincorporated Concord are reeling after a family dispute at a home on Laurel Drive left one person dead and three others hospitalized. Contra Costa County sheriff’s detectives say the altercation began as a domestic issue, and while the investigation continues, they report there are no outstanding suspects or broader threat to the public.
   

2. Sir, Have You Been Drinking? Daytime Driver Weaving Through Concord Streets: Watch (patch.com) — Daytime drivers in Concord watched as police tracked a red Toyota weaving through city streets, parking lots, and neighborhoods before stopping it at a sign near Monument Plaza. Pleasant Hill and Concord officers say the driver nearly hit parked cars and later tested at more than twice the legal blood alcohol limit.
   

3. East Bay Regional Park District Expands Future Parkland With 190-Acre Land Addition Near Concord (claycord.com) — Newly added parkland between the former Concord Naval Weapons Station and the Upper Hess Creek watershed will expand protected open space and eventually improve trail connections near Concord. The 190-acre Britton properties, donated as mitigation by a developer, will stay in landbank status while the East Bay Regional Park District evaluates access and safety upgrades funded partly by Measure WW.

Dunn scores 22 as Kamehameha downs state No. 1 Konawena (staradvertiser.com) — Concord’s Carondelet High girls basketball team reached the title game of Hawaii’s prestigious ‘Iolani Classic, falling 67-57 to St. Mary’s of Stockton despite standout performances from several Cougars. Freshman star Dylan Horton led St. Mary’s, while Carondelet’s Layla Dixon earned tournament most outstanding player honors and teammate Niyiah Christopher paced the Cougars with 15 points.
   

5. Share the Spirit: Trinity Center in Walnut Creek was ‘light at the end of the tunnel' for homeless couple (mercurynews.com) — A woman who grew up in Concord and her fiancé were living out of their SUV along the Contra Costa County delta before a Walnut Creek nonprofit helped them secure housing and jobs ahead of their baby’s birth. Trinity Center in Walnut Creek provided case management, housing assistance, and employment support, and is now seeking donations to expand its workforce development program for up to 200 people next year.
