Point Fire Nearly Contained
The Contra Costa County wildfire was still active but was almost contained, Cal Fire reported.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — The Point Fire near Evora Road and Nichols Road in Bay Point was 471 acres and 92 percent contained Monday morning.
The blaze was still considered active Monday, with firefighters continuing to patrol the fire and do mop-ups.
Cal Fire and the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District partnered to battle the wind-driven Point Fire, which broke out Friday around 3 p.m. near Evora Road and Nichols Road.

The fire threatened homes in Bay Point and Concord and prompted mandatory evacuations and evacuation warnings for some 100 residents.
Early Saturday morning, authorities downgraded the remaining evacuation orders to warnings, allowing residents to return home.

By Saturday evening, road closures were lifted and threats to critical infrastructure were mitigated, Cal Fire said.
There was no word on whether any homes were damaged.
The cause of the blaze remained under investigation Monday.
