Police Arrest Suspect In East Bay Assault Of Man Found Overnight In Antioch Roadway

The victim was found overnight Tuesday in the intersection of Lone Tree Way and West Tregallas Road.

A man suspected in the assault of a 59-year-old found injured overnight Tuesday in an Antioch roadway has been arrested.

Antioch police arrested Brandon Alan Rowlett, 34, on Wednesday and charged him with attempted homicide.

The victim was found about 2:45 a.m. in the intersection of Lone Tree Way and West Tregallas Road and remains in critical condition while police investigate what led to the incident.

Officers said the victim appeared to have been involved in a physical altercation.

Police blocked off the area for several hours as officers searched nearby houses and bushes. They originally attributed the shutdown to a traffic accident but have said no vehicles were involved.

Police also said the victim and Rowlett appear to have been homeless.

Rowlett is being held at the West County Detention Facility on $500,000 bail.
