Police Fatally Shoot Man In Concord

CONCORD, CA — An investigation was underway in Concord after a man was fatally shot by police.

The shooting happened around 1:40 a.m. Tuesday after dispatchers received a 911 call about a person attacking a family member with a knife in the 1900 block of Natoma Drive, off Willow Pass Road.

Police said when officers responded and saw a man actively stabbing a family member, the officer-involved shooting took place.

The man with the knife was fatally wounded in the shooting and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The family member who was stabbed was rushed to an area hospital and was expected to survive.

Investigators remained on the scene much of Tuesday in the neighborhood of single-family homes, conducting their investigation.
