Remains Of Missing Bay Area Woman Found In NorCal
A resident of rural Plymouth discovered the partial remains of Alexis Gabe on Thursday, authorities said.
OAKLEY, CA — The partial remains of a missing 24-year-old woman were found in Amador County, officials said Friday. Alexis Gabe, a resident of Oakley, went missing at the start of the year.
A resident of the rural community of Plymouth called the Amador County Sheriff's Office on Thursday to report "something suspicious" — suspected remains.
Authorities recovered the remains but weren't able to complete the investigation until Friday morning amid the diminishing daylight, according to a Facebook post from the city of Oakley.

A forensic odontologist positively identified the remains as Gabe. No other remains were located, Oakley police said.
"The Gabe family has been notified and they are requesting respect and privacy during this time of mourning," Oakley officials said.

The Amador County Sheriff told KCRA 3 that her remains were found along Highway 16 near Longate Road across from the Sacramento County line.
Authorities said the rest of her remains are likely scattered in other areas.
"Due the condition of Alexis' remains we realize there may never be a full recovery of her," the city said.
Police believe that she was murdered by her former boyfriend Marshall Curtis Jones. He was killed by police on June 1 in Kent, WA after he reportedly lunged at officers with a knife, KRON 4 reported.
“He became part of our family. We had no idea he was capable of doing something like this to her,” Gabe’s father Gwyn Gabe said of Jones, KRON 4 reported.
