CONCORD, CA — A Concord man is accused of following and sexually assaulting several people in the past year, at least one of whom was a minor, according to authorities.

Daniel Alejandro Acosta-Montiel, 24, was arrested in April and charged with numerous felonies in connection with what Concord police last week described as “a series of sexual battery and false imprisonment incidents.” The incidents include the following, police said:

  • On Jan. 13, Acosta-Montiel followed a woman, grabbed her from behind and sexually assaulted her.
  • On Jan. 14, he used a stun gun on a female and sexually assaulted her.
  • In mid-February, he was identified as the man who followed a female home and assaulted her in the front yard of her Concord residence.
  • After his arrest, an underage girl reported he had sexually assaulted her in October.

“Given the circumstances of this case, the Concord Police Department believes there may be additional victims,” police said Thursday in a social media post. “Acosta-Montiel lived in Concord during these incidents, but also had connections to East Contra Costa County.”
