Suspected Shooter Surrenders, Pittsburg Police Say

A man suspected in a Pittsburg shooting has turned himself in, according to police.

PITTSBURG, CA —A shooting suspect gave himself up Friday evening after shooting at an associate in the morning, Pittsburg police said. Jeremy Dodson, 42, will be booked into the county jail on suspicion of assault and weapons violations, according to police.

The shooting happened at about 7:30 a.m. in the 100 block of Shannon following an argument. The victim was apparently not injured and ran from the area.

Dodson went into a home in the area, police said. Officers obtained a search warrant to enter the home and sent a SWAT team in to locate Dodson, but found he was no longer there.

Officers searched the surrounding area but were unable to find Dodson, police said. The officers recovered evidence of a shooting but did not find a gun.
