Visiting Scribe will come to Concord

Hey Community,

Exciting news! For the first time ever, we're bringing in a Sofer, an expert Torah scroll, Tefilin, and Mezuzah scribe, to check our community's Tefilin and Mezuzot. It's happening this Thursday!

As we approach the High Holy days, it's a tradition to ensure our Tefilin and Mezuzot are both kosher and undamaged. Just like we take our cars to mechanics for a thorough check, we want to make sure everything is in great condition. A proper Mezuzah isn't just about its case – it's the scroll inside that matters. Our trained scribe can expertly check a Mezuzah in about 10 minutes.

You can drop off your Mezuzot and Tefilin on Wednesday evening or Thursday morning at Chabad of Concord, and pick them up in the evening. Additionally, on Thursday, there are limited spots available for you to watch the Sofer at work as he checks them.

Here's the schedule:

- Drop off your Mezuzot and Tefilin by Wednesday evening or Thursday morning.
- Sofer is here from 11:00AM–8:30PM
- Pick them up on Thursday evening.

But wait, there's more! At 7:45 p.m., you'll get a chance to see some non-kosher Mezuzot that Rabbi Levi found in homes like yours and mine. You can watch him inspect a pair of Tefilin and Mezuzot, and ask any questions you have. It's an insightful opportunity to learn about what's actually inside your Mezuzah.

The cost for checking a Mezuzah is $11 and $77 for a pair of Tefillin
