Volunteer with Meals on Wheels Diablo Region!
Meals on Wheels Diablo Region hopes to sign up 15 new volunteers before August 15th. Join the challenge today!

The Volunteer Challenge: 15 Volunteers By August 15th!
Meals on Wheels Diablo Region is excited to announce a new challenge: we hope to recruit 15 volunteers in the first 15 days of August, and we need your help to make it happen! We love our volunteers because they are the heart and hands of our organization. When you become a volunteer, you are helping local seniors stay healthy, safe, and independent while remaining connected to the community. Without the help of our incredible network of volunteers, older adults living in Contra Costa County would struggle to obtain basic needs and essential resources that, often, only Meals on Wheels Diablo Region can provide.
We are looking for volunteers across all our meal programs:

Additionally, we need Friendly Visitors, Callers, Helpers, and Café Volunteers.
Curious what each volunteer role entails? Here is a little more information!
Delivery Drivers:
MOW Diablo Region Delivery Drivers pick up containers of food from our pick-up site, and deliver food to our homebound clients.
Friendly Visitors:
MOW Diablo Region Friendly Visitors will go to the clients' homes and spend time with them to combat social isolation and ensure clients’ mental health is maintained.
Friendly Helper:
MOW Diablo Region Friendly Helpers assist seniors by picking them up and driving them to various appointments as needed.
Friendly Caller:
MOW Diablo Region Friendly Callers will call and chat on the phone with clients who are isolated and looking for a social connection.
Café Volunteer:
MOW Diablo Region Café Volunteers will help at one of our Café sites across the county and sign clients in, serve food, and assist with clean up of the site.
With as little as two hours a week, your volunteer work could make a huge impact on the lives of our older neighbors.
