Woman Killed In Concord Crash

Two others were hurt, including a teen with major injuries.

CONCORD, CA — A woman was killed in Concord on Tuesday evening when she collided with another vehicle, California Highway Patrol said.

Just before 5:30 p.m., CHP responded to the area of northbound Kirker Pass Road and Hess Road in Concord on a report of a collision.

An investigation revealed that a Ford Fusion containing a woman and a 14-year-old boy was at the westbound Hess Road intersection and tried to make a left turn onto southbound Kirker Pass Road.

The Ford pulled into the path of a Toyota Sienna going north on Kirker Pass Road being driven by a woman. The Toyota collided with the Ford's driver side.

The driver of the Ford was pronounced dead at the scene and the teenager received major injuries and was transported to a hospital. The driver of the Toyota had minor injuries and both she and the teenager are expected to survive.

CHP carried out a DUI investigation and said that it was ruled out as a cause of the crash.
