2020 U.S. Census Results: Changing Demographics Of Culver City

CULVER CITY, CA — The last 10 years have marked a dramatic shift in the demographic makeup of the U.S., with a marked shrinkage of the white population and the rapid growth of the Hispanic/Latino community.

These changes were reflected in Culver City, where the share of the white population fell by 0.56 percent while the Hispanic population fell by 3.25 percent. The Asian population grew by 20.79 percent and the Black/African American population fell by 12.38 percent, respectively.

Culver City also showed an increase in the number of people who identified themselves as multiracial, although the reasons are complex. Experts say the increase reflects changes in the way people identify themselves as well the number of children born to parents of mixed races or ethnicities, along with changes in the wording of census forms themselves.

In Culver City, the number of people who identified themselves as being two or more races was 3,010, showing a growth of 86.84 percent.
