Helms Bakery To Close 1 Year After Opening
Helms Bakery will close a year after it opened.
LOS ANGELES, CA — Helms Bakery — a 21st Century-reimagining of a business that shut down over five decades ago — plans to close a year after it opened.
The original Helms Bakery opened in the 1930s, known for its bread delivered fresh across Los Angeles. By 1969 it shut down and its sprawling campus was repurposed as the Helms Bakery Design Center, featuring a range of restaurants and businesses between Washington and Venice boulevards near downtown Culver City.
Sang Yoon, who also operates gastropub Father’s Office, in November 2024 reopened a bakery under the Helms name in the shopping center.

"With a heavy heart, I’m sharing that Helms Bakery will be closing at our current location," Yoon wrote in an Instagram post this week. "Our final day of service will be Sunday, December 14th."
