Culver City: Driver Arrested On Suspicion Of Carrying Loaded Gun

A driver was arrested on suspicion of carrying a loaded gun in Culver City early Tuesday, police said.

CULVER CITY, CA — A driver was arrested early Tuesday on suspicion of carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle, according to Culver City police.

Police officers conducted a traffic stop near La Cienega Blvd and Blackwelder Avenue about 12:15 a.m., police said.

"During the traffic stop, the officer developed probable cause to search the vehicle," police said. "Underneath the driver seat, a loaded 9MM handgun was recovered. Further, the firearm had been altered and did not possess a serial number."

The suspect's name was not immediately released.
