Culver City Police Search For Armed Suspect Who Shot At Runner
Culver City police are asking the public for help identifying a suspect who fired two gunshots at a runner Wednesday.
CULVER CITY, CA — Culver City police are asking the public Friday for help identifying a suspect who pulled a handgun on a jogger and fired two gunshots at him.
"The victim was not struck and sprinted away from the suspect," police said. "The suspect drove away in an unknown direction."
A Culver City local was jogging in the 11200 block of McDonald Street about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday when the suspect's vehicle drove next to him. The suspect then turned southbound onto Dawes Avenue and parked at the intersection.

"As the victim was running past the suspect vehicle, he observed the suspect exit the vehicle and stand in the center of McDonald Street and Dawes Avenue facing his direction," police said. "The suspect yelled at him about an iPhone. The suspect then displayed the silhouette of gun from underneath his shirt and fired two gunshots towards the victim."
Police described the suspect as a Black man in his 20s, 5 feet 6 inches tall. He was seen wearing dark-colored pants and a red plaid long sleeve shirt. He was driving a dark gray pickup truck. No other details were immediately available.

It's unknown what type of handgun he was carrying, police said.
