Favorite Culver City Businesses That Have Closed
A simple question on Patch's Facebook page drew an outpouring of memories and longing for businesses that are no longer here.
CULVER CITY, CA — Over the weekend, Culver City Patch asked on our Facebook page, "If you could bring back one local business that closed in town (it doesn't matter how long ago), which would it be?"
The responses ranged from local restaurants to architectural gem coffee stops, with community members sharing what they missed the most. Here are the nostalgic spots, places for food and enjoyment, that people shared.
Susie Marko-Ross shared a few former Culver City locations that bring up the memories, including Woody's, Roll 'n Rye, Sterns BBQ and Archie’s.

Mary Campbell also misses Roll N Rye, which closed in 2014 and had served Jewish deli food for more than 40 years on the Westside, plus La Ballona, which was known for it its Mexican food and family-friendly environment.

Adrienne Jensen shared nostalgia for Kings Tropical Inn, a former dining location in Culver City. The restaurant had two locations in Los Angeles from the 1930s and 1960s. It was known for serving chicken dinners.
