Man Found With Pipe Bombs Near Culver City Gets 8 Years in Prison
The man caused a bomb squad response in May when explosive devices were found in his apartment.
A Los Angeles man pleaded no contest today to three felony counts stemming from a traffic stop in which an explosive device was found in his vehicle, leading authorities to find additional bomb-making materials in his apartment in the Palms area at the border with Culver City.
Robert Colt Wilson, 29, was immediately sentenced to eight years in state prison following his plea to one count each of possession of a destructive device on a street, possession of the ingredients to make a destructive device and possession of a controlled substance with a firearm.
Four other counts against Wilson were dismissed.
He was arrested May 14 during a traffic stop in the 4100 block of Glencoe Avenue, just east of Marina del Rey, during which an explosive device was discovered in his vehicle.

A bomb squad subsequently found an explosive device and bomb-making materials in Wilson's small apartment in the 3800 block of Overland Avenue, near Venice Boulevard, according to the District Attorney's Office.
