Man Shot Dead At Westside Housing Project

Authorities are investigating a possible gang-related shooting early Thursday on the Westside.

CULVER CITY, CA — Los Angeles police officers are investigating a gang-related shooting death Wednesday night in Culver City.

The shooting happened about 10:40 p.m. at the Mar Vista Gardens housing project, near the 5000 block of Marionwood Drive, a Los Angeles police dispatcher told Patch.

The victim, whose name was not immediately released, was found shot at the apartment, police said. He was taken to a hospital where he died as a result of his gunshot wound.

A suspect was seen driving away from the area in a vehicle. No suspect or vehicle descriptions were immediately available.

Officials had blocked off traffic in the area early Thursday during an investigation, Lt. Ensley of the Pacific Division reported. Roads were reopened about 7 a.m.
