William Daniel Johnson, a Los Angeles attorney, was recently selected by the Trump campaign to be a delegate, Mother Jones reported, and has pledged to cast a ballot for Trump during every round of voting at the convention.
The Southern Poverty Law Center calls Johnson "an uninspiring but determined white separatist" who, among other things, has written a book advocating to repeal the 14th and 15th amendments. Johnson also calls for the deportation of non-white citizens in his book, according to the SPLC.
He leads the American Freedom Party, which, according to its website, "is a party that represents the interests and issues of European-Americans and all Americans who support our mission."
"I just hope to show how I can be mainstream and have these views," Johnson said in an interview with Mother Jones' Josh Harkinson. "I can be a white nationalist and be a strong supporter of Donald Trump and be a good example to everybody."
