Pedestrian Killed On 405 Freeway Transition Road

CULVER CITY, CA — A pedestrian was struck by a car and killed early Friday morning on a transition road between the 405 and 90 freeways, according to authorities.

The California Highway Patrol responded to the transition road between the southbound 405 and westbound 90 at around 4:25 a.m. in response to a call that a pedestrian had been struck by an Infiniti sedan, according to the CHP.

The victim was pronounced dead by Culver City Fire Department paramedics at the scene. The person has not been publicly identified.

The transition road was shut down for under three hours after the fatal crash.

The fatal crash comes after another in the area last week.

Chandler Jones, 33, a former local high school football star and NFL player, was struck and killed by a vehicle on the 90 Freeway on June 22.
