Police Seek Four Suspects in Armed Carjacking In Culver City

CULVER CITY, CA — Police Tuesday asked the public for help in identifying and tracking down four suspects who carjacked a vehicle in Culver City.

The victim was sitting in her vehicle in the 6100 block of Canterbury Drive, near Green Valley Circle, when the suspects pulled up beside her in an early 2000s silver sedan shortly before 6 p.m. Monday, according to the Culver City Police Department.

The first suspect approached the driver, exposed a black semi-automatic handgun in his waistband and told her to "get out of the car," police said. At the same time, the second suspect walked to the passenger side of her vehicle and tried to open the door.

The driver got out of her vehicle, ran away and screamed for help out of fear for her life, according to police. Two suspects got into the front seats and the other two jumped into the back seats, and they sped away westbound on Green Valley Circle, police said.

All four suspects are believed to be about 20 years old. The one who had a firearm is described as 6 feet tall, with a thin build and long curly, dark hair, police said.

The second suspect was wearing a mask and is described as 6 feet tall, with a thin build, according to police, who did not provide detailed descriptions of the other two suspects or of the victim's vehicle.
