STAR Eco Station’s 13th Annual Interactive Creepy Crawly Feature this Sunday

Interactive exhibits, a butterfly garden, local scientists, composting bugs and controllable robotic bugs are just some of the things that will be on display at the Culver City museum Sunday from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Get ready to ‘bug out’ at the this Sunday with an interactive entomology and arachnid Expo for kids from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at 10101 Jefferson Blvd., Culver City.

The event will highlight hundreds of bug, spider and butterfly specimens, outrageous edible insects, scientists and specialists, games, crafts, and of course –food.

If you’re not afraid of the ick factor, you can visit an exhibit showcasing 40 creepy tarantulas. For those with more delicate sensibilities, be sure to walk through the butterfly garden, then head over to where you can control robot bugs and learn the bzzz-worthy facts about beneficial bugs and composting worms from STAR Eco Station staff scientists.

And if you’re really adventurous you can sample snacks that used to squirm served at that “Bug Buffet.”

The event takes place 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Sun. Sept. 9.

Entry: $6 for kids, $8 for adults and $5 for STAR Education students.*
Admission prices include a tour of the STAR Eco Station and any activities located inside the Eco Station.
*Must show proof of STAR registration for discount.
