Sushi Date Goes Wrong; Police Search For Armed Robbery Suspects

Culver City police are searching for three armed men who robbed a married couple on a Valentine's Day sushi date.

CULVER CITY, CA — Culver City police were searching for three armed men in their 20s who robbed a married couple on a Valentine's Day sushi date, officials said.

The armed robbery was reported at 8:38 p.m. Sunday at California Roll and Sushi, 6251 Bristol Parkway, police said.

The victim said he was sitting outside of the business with his wife when two suspects approached them, police said. One of the suspects pulled out a black handgun, demanding their property.

The married couple feared for their lives and the husband handed over his personal property to one of the suspects. The suspects then ran away and jumped into a waiting SUV driven by a third suspect.

The light-colored SUV then fled northbound through the parking lot and then westbound on Green Valley Circle and out of sight.

Police describe the two suspects as two Black men in their 20s with thin builds. One wore a gray hoodie and the other wore dark clothing. The driver of the SUV was also described as a Black male. No further description was available.
