Update: Hit and Run Victim May Lose Leg
The elderly pedestrian struck on the 10 Freeway on Tuesday morning may have to have her right leg amputated.

California Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Micheaux informed Patch at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday that earlier this morning may have to have her right leg amputated.
The elderly woman was taken to UCLA Medical Center after she was hit by a car on the Westbound 10 Freeway near Robertson Boulevard around 5 a.m.
Officer Micheaux added that the woman suffered major injuries to her right leg in what police are saying is a felony hit and run, and are waiting for a further update on her status and whether or not her leg will have to be amputated.

Micheaux added authorities were unable to identify the injured woman due the severity of her injuries and her state of mind.
