Woman Stabbed Multiple Times In Culver City Parking Garage: Police

A man suspected of attacking a woman is being held on $2 million bail after being charged with attempted murder, police said.

CULVER CITY, CA — A 35-year-old man is being held on $2 million bail after stabbing a woman in a retail parking garage Sunday afternoon, according to the Culver City Police Department.

Police responded to Slauson Avenue and Jefferson Boulevard at around 2:45 p.m. Sunday after multiple callers reported an altercation between two people in a parking lot. Officers found a woman who had been stabbed multiple times; she has since been released from a local hospital, police said.

The suspect, later identified as Jorge Arnoldo Vasquez, had approached the woman in a parking garage outside a retail business and stabbed her multiple times before she was able to remove the knife from his hands, police said.

Vasquez fled the area on foot and was located shortly after hiding in bushes at Cougar Park, near where the attack took place, police said.

Vasquez was booked at the Culver City Jail and subsequently charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and providing false identification to a police officer, police said.
