Deals for Good Gives Deals and Donations to Local Services

West Valley Community Services partnered with the Groupon-like company that brokers great prices that come with a built-in donation.

Shopping locally just became a philanthropic effort. West Valley Community Services partnered with Deals for Good so when you buy a deal a portion of that goes to WVCS.

Deals for Good, a San Jose-based company, works like Groupon but donates a percentage of the buy to a charitable organization.

“This is truly a win/win situation for all involved,” said Naomi Nakano-Matsumoto, executive director of WVCS in her introductory email about the service.

There are currently two deals that give both the buyer and WVCS something to smile about.

A deal at Homestead Lanes is a 50 percent savings. Pay $15 and get $30 worth of bowling and shoe rental.

In Sunnyvale at Homestead 76, pay $14 and get a $29 car wash, wax and vacuum.

Not only does the purchaser get a great price, but 25 percent of each purchase goes to WVCS.

WVCS supports those in the communities of Cupertino, Saratoga, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno and West San Jose who need help with food, housing and family services.

“It is a great way to try out new places in the community and to support the WVCS at the same time,” Nakano-Matsumoto said in her email.
