Behind the Scenes Class Turns Danville Residents into Civilian Police
The Town of Danville is offering a six-week acadamy on the basics of police methods and procedures for residents interested in participating

Announcement by the Town of Danville:
DANVILLE- Town of Danville residents interested in learning about how the police operate and what happens behind the scenes at the Danville Police Department, will get the opportunity this spring as the DPD announces their latest Citizen’s Police Academy.
Over the next several weeks, police will be taking sign-ups for the Academy. Lt. Allan Shields said the six week long class will focus on police methods and procedures. Classes will be held on Wednesday evenings from 6:00pm - 9:00p.m. beginning in April, covering a wide range of law enforcement topics.
