Comet + Solar System From Danville: Photo Of The Day
Bob Schiff took photos of the Comet C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan–ATLAS, and put together all the planets he sees from his telescope.
DANVILLE, CA — Patch astronomer Bob Schiff provided us with two new exciting images. The first was the famous Comet C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan–ATLAS whose dust tail of several million miles graced skies all over the world last month as it reached a mere 44 million miles away from Earth.
We won't see it again for 80,000 years, so this photo that Schiff took from the fairway at Bridges Golf Club may be the next best thing.
His second photo combines all the photos he's captured of planets from the backyard of his Danville home, put in the order they'd appear in the Solar System. Images are not to scale.
