Contra Costa Co. Ratifies Emergency Proclamation to Recent Storm Damage

Officials say the storm led to an estimated $18 million in damage in the county.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — The Contra Costa County's Board of Supervisors on Thursday ratified a proclamation of local emergency due to recent storm damage, county officials announced Friday.

The storm damage during the first two weeks of January led to an estimated $18 million in damage in the county in several unincorporated areas, cities and at water, park and sanitation district facilities,
officials said.

The proclamation, along with California's declaration of a state emergency on Monday, will put the county and local jurisdictions in line for potential recovery funding, officials said.
