Coyote Suffering from Mange Spotted in Danville

City officials and a local wildlife organization are trying to find the sick animal. Residents shared video of the animal roaming the area.

DANVILLE, CA — The town of Danville is advising residents to be on the lookout for a coyote that has recently been seen around town, suffering from a severe skin disease.

The animal is apparently suffering from mange and has been seen roaming the town's Greenbrook neighborhood, as well as other neighborhoods, as recent as last week, according to Danville spokesman Geoff Gillette.

Non-profit organization Wildlife Emergency Services is assisting with the search for the ill animal, hoping to capture it and nurse it back to health. The coyote does not pose a threat to humans or cats or dogs. The
animal has been seen walking near cats and dogs without showing any interest in them, wildlife officials said.
