Danville Police Arrest Suspect Who Stole 'Bait Bike'

Police placed a bait bike with a GPS tracker, and arrested a suspect who reportedly stole it.

DANVILLE, CA - Danville police arrested a man who allegedly stole a "bait bike," according to the Danville Police Department.

On Friday, Dec. 16, police placed a bike with a GPS tracker, and caught a suspect at approximately 8:30 a.m. The suspect was booked into jail for grand theft.

With bike theft on the rise, Danville police encourage everyone to lock bikes, and gave the following lock recommendations and tips:

  • Use two locks.
  • Lock in well-lit, busy areas.
  • Secure both the frame and the wheels.
  • Use security bolts for quick release parts.
