DANVILLE, CA — Danville is teaming up with NFL Flag, the largest youth flag football organization in the U.S., to start the town’s first all girls flag football league. The league is operated by town staff and coached by volunteers.
The league is open to girls in third through eighth grade who do not have much experience with flag football. Girls will play on age-based teams for an hour of practice and a 45-minute game for eight Sundays from April 14 to June 9 at Osage Station Park.
The town is also looking for coaches for each of the leagues. Coaches must undergo mandated reporter training and a fingerprint background check. They will be credited $40.
