Danville Streets To Close For Run For Education

Rolling closures will take place Sunday for the annual 10K race to support SRVUSD schools.

DANVILLE, CA — Some residential streets in Danville will be closed Sunday for the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation's Run for Education.

From 8-9 a.m., rolling closures will take place along the following roads:

  • Brookside Drive between Everett Drive and the Osage Station Park north parking lot;
  • Everett Drive between both Brookside Drive intersections;
  • Brookside Drive between Everett Drive and Paraiso Drive; and
  • Paraiso Drive between Brookside Drive and the Iron Horse Trail.

Drivers on all these streets will be stopped by police at trail crossings while runners pass. All roads should reopen by 8:45 a.m., the town said.

After the race, 10K athletes will be shuttled from the San Ramon City Center finish line to the starting line at Charlotte Wood Middle School.

Registration is still open for the run, which raises money to enhance the educational experience for SRVUSD students. It will feature a 10K race, a 5K Walk/Run, a Friendship Run for participants with special needs, a Mini Run for participants aged 2-6, and an Expo containing a kids’ zone, inflatable games, face painters, a balloon artist, a photo booth, crafts, exhibitor booths, and a drawing for over $1000 in prizes.
