DANVILLE, CA — The Town of Danville has extended the candidate nomination period until Wednesday for three open positions on the Town Council. As of Monday, four candidates have filed papers. Two of the three incumbents have filed to run. Vice Mayor David Fong did not run, which means the deadline is automatically extended to 5 p.m. Wednesday.

As of the original Friday deadline, incumbents Renee Morgan and Newell Arnerich have filed. Business owner and town volunteer Mark Belotz and resident Julia Gillette have also filed.

Eligible candidates must live within Danville town limits and be a registered Danville voter. There is no filing fee. If candidates choose to prepare a Candidate’s Statement of Qualifications, there is a $789 fee to cover the cost of printing it in the voter guide. Anyone interested in filing can contact Town Clerk Marie Sunseri at msunseri@danville.ca.gov to schedule appointments and obtain papers.
