Danville Town Manager Joe Calabrigo is the longest serving city manager in the East Bay, serving in his role since 1993.
DANVILLE, CA — Danville's Town Manager Joe Calabrigo is the highest paid government employee in the city, according to numbers released by the California State Controller's Office.
Coming in at $267,067 with base pay and benefits, Calabrigo, who is the longest serving city manager in the East Bay, has served as Danville's town manager since 1993.
Calabrigo's pay, includes a base rate of $255,750 and $11,317 in other pay, which according to the controller's office, could include everything from overtime to meeting stipends and bonus pay. In 2020, he was paid $252,813, with $243,603 in regular pay and $9,210 in other pay.

The next highest paid municipal employee in Danville was the city attorney coming in at $235,250, followed by the assistant city manager at $199,282. Danville's Recreation Services director ($174,127) and Finance director/Treasurer ($155,535) rounded out the top five.
The highest paid city council members in the state belonged to the city of Los Angeles, with wages sitting above $200,000. The highest paid mayor in the state belonged to San Francisco, with a wage of $353,802, followed by Los Angeles. The ranking did not differentiate between full- and part-time employees.
