Diablo Road Construction Projects Begin

Eucalyptus tree removals, Diablo Road lane widening, and a closure at part of Mt. Diablo State Park are all taking place this summer.

DANVILLE, CA — The Town of Danville is overseeing a number of construction projects along Diablo Road throughout the summer.

The town is removing eucalyptus trees along the south side of Diablo Road, between Alameda Diablo and Fairway Drive. The soil around the trees was significantly eroded during the 2023 winter storms, and were scheduled to be removed during the Diablo Culvert Replacement Project, but that would have extended the project timeline. The tree removals will result in partial lane closures.

The private developer of the Magee Preserve project is widening the westbound lane of Diablo Road, near the intersection of Green Valley Road, in order to extend the lane by a couple hundred feet. The project started the first full week in June and will finish in early autumn.
