Diablo Road Reopens Monday

Diablo Road in Danville reopened Monday morning following the replacement of a drainage culvert.

DANVILLE, CA — Diablo Road in Contra Costa County reopened Monday morning following the replacement of a drainage culvert.

Work to replace the 60-year-old culvert had caused the road to be closed since March 23 between Alameda Diablo and Avenida Nueva in the Town of Danville.

The road had been scheduled to reopen on April 13 but rain and supply delays extended the project through the weekend.

The maintenance operation was considered critical emergency work to maintain the integrity of the town drainage system and the safety of Diablo Road, according to a release from the Town of Danville.
