Felony Warrant, Sex Registrant Sweep Yields 25 Arrests in Contra Costa County
The sweep yielded arrests for fugitive warrants and weapons offenses, according to police officials.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — Police arrested 25 people this week in a felony warrant sweep and sex registrant compliance check operation around East Contra Costa County.
Police from Antioch, Pittsburg and San Francisco, U.S. marshals, FBI agents, Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, Contra Costa County sheriff's officers, California Highway Patrol officers, Department of State officials, California Department of Corrections officers, Contra Costa County Probation officers and High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area officers cooperated on the sweep.
On Monday and Tuesday, officers focused on serving outstanding felony arrest warrants, Antioch police Lt. Tony Morefield said. On Wednesday, officers focused on verifying sex registrant addresses and compliance checks, conducting more than 60 address verifications.

The sweep yielded arrests for fugitive warrants and weapons offenses, Morefield said. One loaded firearm was seized.
