Gunshots Fired In Danville Home; Danville Man Arrested Following Standoff

A Danville man was arrested after gunshots were heard at his home near Bay Club Crow Canyon early Monday, police said.

DANVILLE, CA — A Danville man was arrested following a shelter-in-place and police standoff that took place in Danville early Monday morning, according to the Danville Police Department.

Around 1:50 a.m. Monday, Danville officers responded to a call at a home on the 1900 block of St. Norbert Drive, according to a police statement. Arriving officers heard gunshots coming from the home.

Nearby residents were told to shelter-in-place through a warning sent by the Contra Costa County Community Warning System. Officers said they repeatedly made announcements for the suspect to come out of the home. He eventually did, and was later arrested.

53-year-old Timothy Bancroft was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and discharging of a firearm, according to police. He is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
