The 100 Club of Contra Costa County will be holding their annual dinner event this month, with International hero Captain Chesley B. “Sully” Sullenberger attending as a guest speaker.
Sullenberger, a Danville resident also known as the "Hero of the Hudson," was named one of the world’s 100 most influential people by TIME magazine after safely guiding a US Airways jetliner to an emergency landing on the icy Hudson River in 2009.
The 100 Club of Contra Costa County provides immediate financial support for spouses and children of police officers and fire fighters who lost their lives as a direct result of physical injuries sustained in Contra Costa County in the line of duty.
The event will be held at the Hilton in Concord on Oct. 24 starting at 5:00 pm with dinner at 6:45.
Sullenberger's speaking topic will be focused on "Making a Difference," sharing stories of vision and courage from America's leaders.
