Hey Veterans: This Forum is for You

On July 25, the Contra Costa County Veteran Services Office is holding an evening of information at the Veterans Memorial Building in Danville.

With the recent opening of the expanded and renovated Veterans Memorial Building in downtown Danville, leaders of Contra Costa County’s Veteran Services Office will offer an evening of information on how area residents can access the many services available to them.

Veterans can learn about applying for benefits, access to health care, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder therapy and much more. The event will take place on Wednesday, July 25, beginning at 6 p.m.

The Veterans Memorial Building is located at 400 Hartz Avenue in Danville. Seating is limited.

Leading the discussion will be County Veteran Services Officer Nathan Johnson, who recently assumed that post after serving as a readjustment counselor with the Concord Vet Center. Johnson, who served in the Marine Corps with a combat tour in Iraq, has also completed his Masters in Social Work from UC Berkeley.

Joining him will be Veteran Services Representative Mike Hoffschneider, an Army veteran who has spent the past four decades connecting vets to critical services. Also on hand will be Denver Mills, a Vietnam veteran who currently is Team Leader at the Concord Vet Center.
