Danville: How To Dispose Of Christmas Trees
Find out what you need to do to make sure your tree gets picked up.

DANVILLE, CA — Get a real Christmas tree this year? Be sure to leave it on your curb this week.
Christmas tree pickup began Monday for Danville and will continue through Friday on your regularly scheduled pickup day. Republic Services customers in Alamo, Diablo, Blackhawk and Walnut Creek will also have their trees picked up.
Trees will be composted, so don't forget to remove lights, decorations, tree stands and other items. If the tree is taller than eight feet, cut it in half.

Miss this week? No worries. Republic Services customers can also have trees picked up from Jan. 18 to 22. After that, you'll have to cut up the tree and place it in your organics cart, or schedule an organics-only cleanup at 925-685-4711.
Artificial trees are not accepted. Flocked trees can be picked up curbside for a fee or can be included in a once-a-year on-call garbage cleanup, but call 925-685-4711 in advance to schedule. Flocked trees can also be placed in black landfill carts, if they have been cut to fit inside the bin with the lid closed.
