Iron Horse Trail Section Closed In Danville
A large part of the trail will be closed starting Tuesday, so pedestrians will have to take either local roads or busy arterial roads.

DANVILLE, CA — A section of the Iron Horse Trail in Danville is closed starting Tuesday for repaving work from Tuesday until Friday, Sept. 12.
The trail will be closed between Sycamore Valley Road and San Ramon Valley Boulevard, the town of Danville announced. Cyclists and pedestrians are encouraged to use two alternate routes:
- Brookside Drive, Laurel Drive, and Hartz Way, which are local roads with less vehicle traffic, though some roads lack sidewalks.
- Sycamore Valley Road and San Ramon Valley Boulevard, which are busy arterial roads. Cyclists and pedestrians should be mindful of car traffic while using sidewalks or bike lanes.

The town will provide an update when the project is complete. Questions can be directed to the East Bay Regional Park District at 888-327-2757 or info@ebparks.org.

Numerous commenters on a social media post voiced frustration that the trail was closed at the start of the school year, at a time when many students use it as a safe method of frustration, rather than the summer. Patch is awaiting comment.
