Bay Area Band To Feature On NBC Today Show Super Bowl Pep Rally
The Monte Vista High School Marching Band and Color Guard is the only band playing at City Center's Super Bowl Pep Rally Friday morning.

DANVILLE, CA — 49ers Faithful from all over will soon dance to tunes played by the award-winning Monte Vista High School Marching Band and Color Guard.
The 75-student group of musicians will wake up bright and early Friday at 4 a.m. to play at the 49ers Faithful Pep Rally at The Lot City Center, which will be broadcast on NBC's Today Show.
The Monte Vista band is the only Bay Area high school band to perform at the rally. The band was selected due to an ongoing relationship with The Lot, according to Theresa Madeira, the vice president of the band’s fundraising organization. Each December, the band plays seasonal selections at the Lot’s tree-lighting ceremony.

Early risers can also attend the free pep rally in person in their best Niners gear for a shot at being featured on TV. Raffles will be drawn throughout the event.
